Titanium Washer

Titanium washers are metal washers made from titanium materials and are commonly used as fasteners. The manufacturing process of titanium washers typically involves plastic deformation, surface strengthening, and machining steps.

Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy and pure titanium GR2 are the most commonly used materials. Among them, GR2 titanium washers are primarily used in the chemical industry, while GR5 titanium washers are used in automobiles, airplanes, motorcycles, and other applications.

1. Lightweight: Titanium has a density of approximately 4.51 g/cm³, which is significantly lower than that of commonly used metals such as iron (approximately 7.86 g/cm³) and copper (approximately 8.96 g/cm³). This gives it a clear advantage in applications where weight reduction is critical.  

2. High strength: Titanium alloys exhibit high strength, enabling them to withstand significant pressure and tension. For example, the tensile strength of GR5 titanium exceeds 895 MPa at room temperature, ensuring the stability and durability of equipment during long-term use.

3. Excellent corrosion resistance: Titanium readily reacts with oxygen in the air to form a dense oxide film, which protects the underlying metal from further oxidation and corrosion. This gives it outstanding performance in corrosive environments, including seawater, strong acids, and strong alkalis.

4. Non-magnetic: Titanium washers are non-magnetic-they are not attracted to magnetic fields and do not cause magnetic interference. This makes them ideal for use in equipment and environments where magnetic sensitivity is a concern.

Types of titanium washers

 

titanium - Flat washers

- Flat washers: Flat and round, mainly used to increase contact area, disperse pressure, protect the surface of the connected parts, and prevent damage to the surface of the connected parts when nuts or bolts are tightened.

Titanium Spring washers

Spring washers: They are elastic. After the nuts are tightened, they can give the nuts an elastic force to keep the nuts tight and prevent the nuts from loosening and falling off under vibration or other external forces.

titanium Metal spiral wound gaskets

Metal spiral wound gaskets: They are made of V-shaped or W-shaped stainless steel strips and non-metallic fillers, spirally wound with titanium strips, and spot welded at the beginning and end. They have good compression resilience and are suitable for sealing parts with severe temperature and pressure changes.
