The main difference between GR1 and GR5 titanium rods lies in composition and performance:
1. Composition:
- GR1: pure titanium, titanium content not less than 99.5%, less impurities.
- GR5: titanium alloy, the main components are titanium (about 90%), aluminum (about 6%) and vanadium (about 4%).
2. Mechanical properties:
- GR1: lower strength, but good plasticity, easy to process and shape.
- GR5: high strength, better corrosion resistance and heat resistance than GR1, but more difficult to process.
3. Application areas:
- GR1: suitable for corrosion-resistant environments such as chemical industry and ocean where strength requirements are not high.
- GR5: widely used in aerospace, medical implants and other fields with high requirements for strength and corrosion resistance.
4. Processing performance:
- GR1: easy to weld and cold form.
- GR5: welding and processing are more difficult, and higher process requirements are required.
Summary: GR1 pure titanium has good plasticity and is easy to process, while GR5 titanium alloy has high strength, strong corrosion resistance and a wider range of applications.
