USA grades: N4 and N6 correspond to Ni201 and Ni200 in ASME II, i.e. low carbon pure nickel and ordinary pure nickel (i.e. N4, Ni201, N6, Ni200).
Nickel strip implementation standard: N4/N6 pure nickel strip production implementation standard GB/T2072-2007
Nickel strip state (Vickers hardness): hard state (Y), semi-hard (Y2), 1, 4 hard (Y4), soft state (M).
Nickel strip specifications: wide band: 2~330mm thickness: 0.05~1mm length: >=3000mm
Nickel strip packaging, marking, transportation and storage shall comply with GB88888.
Nickel strip purity: more than 99.95%
Nickel strip characteristics: good gloss, ductility, weldability
Difference between N4 and N6 pure nickel strips: The difference between N4 and N6 lies in the C content, namely: low-carbon pure nickel and ordinary pure nickel
N4 and N6 correspond to Ni201 and Ni200 in ASME II, namely low-carbon pure nickel and ordinary pure nickel
(i.e. N4 /Ni201, N6/Ni200)
N4 Ni%=99.9%, C%=0.01%Max,
N6 Ni%=99.5%-99.6% C%=0.10%Max
Corrosion resistance of pure nickel
Pure nickel is particularly resistant to alkali corrosion and is relatively stable regardless of high temperature or molten alkali, so it is mainly used in the alkali industry. At room temperature, nickel is extremely stable in seawater, salt solutions and organic media (such as fatty acids, phenols, alcohols, etc.). It is not resistant to inorganic acid corrosion and is unstable in acetic acid and formic acid.
2. According to GB2054-2005, the difference between N4 and N6 is:
1. Chemical composition, N4 C content is less than 0.02% N6 C content is less than 0.15%, and the content of other elements is the same;
2. Mechanical properties, in M state, N4 Rm ≥ 350MPa, N6 Rm ≥ 380MPa
Note: As shown above, N4 and N6 are mainly different in C content. N4 is called low-carbon pure nickel, and the content of other elements is the same. Due to the low carbon nature of N4, it is suitable for use in some specific situations, so it is better to communicate with customers about the use environment or purpose to avoid unnecessary trouble.
Pure nickel strip: The nickel content is above 99.95%. Pure nickel has excellent mechanical properties and high corrosion resistance in a variety of different environments. It also has magnetostriction and magnetism, high heat transfer, high conductivity, low gas volume and low vapor pressure. It has good spot welding performance, high tensile strength, easy operation, low resistivity (first choice for laptop battery pack combination), can pass current above 50A, and is the first choice for power battery pack combination. This product is mainly used in the manufacture of nickel-hydrogen batteries, lithium batteries, combined batteries and power tools, communication information, special lights and other industries.
