Products Description
Molybdenum rods are high-purity molybdenum metal rods made from molybdenum powder (99.96%) as the raw material. These rods are formed into blanks, dried, and sintered. Depending on the specific usage requirements, they are classified into three types: pressed rods, forged rods, and rotating rods. The diameter ranges from 8 mm to 200 mm, and the typical delivery time is approximately 10 days.
In 2018, due to the closure of many molybdenum raw material manufacturers, the price of molybdenum concentrate increased significantly. This caused a rise in the price of molybdenum rods, which went up from around 220 yuan per kilogram in 2017 to the current 320 yuan per kilogram.

Molybdenum rod surface state classification
Sintered molybdenum rod: Silver-gray metallic luster on the surface.
Forged molybdenum rod: A layer of oxide is present on the surface, and the surface is black.
Car light molybdenum rod: The surface has a metallic luster and is flat but rough.
Polished molybdenum rod: Silver-gray metallic luster, smooth surface, and minimal size error.
Uses of molybdenum rods

3. Used as high-temperature heating elements and high-temperature structural components.
4. In the glass and refractory fiber industries, it is used as an electrode in furnaces. It operates in a glass melt at 1300°C and has a long service life.
5. Used as an electrode in the rare earth industry.
Molybdenum rod physical and chemical properties
Molybdenum is a silvery-white metal or gray-black powder (body-centered cubic crystal). Its melting point is 2610°C, and its boiling point is 5560°C. The relative density is 10.2. It is soluble in hot concentrated nitric acid, hot concentrated sulfuric acid, and aqua regia. It is slightly soluble in hydrochloric acid and insoluble in cold water, hot water, hydrofluoric acid, and liquid ammonia.
