Thin Titanium Wire

Thin Titanium Wire is the lightest material used in eyeglasses, offering advantages such as lightweight, high hardness, corrosion resistance, allergy resistance, and fatigue resistance. Today, Thin Titanium Wire is becoming increasingly popular and has become a fashion trend, especially among high-end business elites who highly praise pure titanium frames. However, compared to other metals, acetate, or plastic eyeglass frames, titanium metal frames are more expensive.

The composition of Ti-15333 titanium alloy wire is Ti-15V-3Cr-3Sn-3Al. This material is characterized by its light weight, high hardness, corrosion resistance, rust-free nature, good thermal conductivity, smooth texture, and hypoallergenic properties. Therefore, it is especially used for making eyeglass frames.

 

Due to the varying hardness of different grades of titanium and titanium alloys, the available diameter ranges for titanium wire also differ:

GR1/GR2 have lower hardness and strength compared to titanium alloys, so pure titanium wire can be drawn to finer diameters, typically ranging from 0.005 mm to 3 mm. Wires with a diameter below 0.5 mm are generally supplied as coiled wire, while those greater than 0.5 mm can be produced as either coiled or straight wire.

GR5 titanium alloy has higher hardness and strength. The wire diameter can be as small as 0.1 mm, or even 0.05 mm. Naturally, titanium wire of such fine specifications is also relatively expensive.
