Gr5 titanium alloy block and titanium rods are widely used in the aviation industry. 6Al-4V alloy is a medium strength α-β biphase titanium alloy containing 6%α stabilized element Al and 4%β stabilized element V. The alloy has excellent comprehensive properties and is the most widely used in the aerospace industry. The alloy can work for a long time at a temperature of 400 ° C, and is mainly used in the aviation industry to manufacture engine fans and compressor discs, blades, and important bearing components such as girds, street lights, and spacers in aircraft structures. TC4 The main semi-finished products of titanium alloy are bars, forgings, thick plates, sheets, profiles and wires. The alloy is mainly used in the annealed state, but can also be strengthened by solid solution failure treatment. The quenched section is generally not more than 25mm.

Heat Treatment
GR5 titanium alloy block is generally annealed in the factory or treated in the solution or fired state. After solution treatment, it must be quenched as soon as possible to achieve the maximum effect of the α-martensite phase, that is, to maximize the aging effect. Other heat treatments of titanium, aluminum, and vanadium include pressure relief and annealing during forging or welding to improve tolerance to damage. Like other titanium alloys, titanium 6-AL-4V has a high affinity for gases including oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen. The absorption of oxygen leads to the formation of a very hard and brittle oxide layer when heated in air, so annealing of GR5 titanium alloy requires a vacuum annealing furnace.
