The corrosion resistance of Gr7 titanium plates stems from the addition of palladium (Pd), which enables them to perform exceptionally well in harsh environments where ordinary pure titanium (such as Gr1 or Gr2) struggles. This is mainly demonstrated in the following aspects:

Strongly Oxidizing/Reducing Acid Environments: Gr7 titanium effectively resists corrosion in non-oxidizing or weakly oxidizing acids such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and phosphoric acid, as well as in acidic solutions containing chlorine, far outperforming pure titanium without palladium.

Crevice and Pitting Corrosion Resistance: It offers exceptional resistance to crevice corrosion (such as on connectors and welds) and pitting corrosion (small, localized surface corrosion) in environments prone to localized corrosion, such as seawater, highly concentrated brine, and chloride solutions.

Complex Industrial Media: It maintains long-term stability in various corrosive media found in the chemical industry (such as mixed systems of organic acids, alkalis, and salt solutions) and in hydrometallurgical electrolytes, making it less susceptible to general corrosion or localized corrosion failure.

 

 

Characteristics and application fields of GR7 titanium plate

 

GR7 titanium plate has the following characteristics:

1,High strength and light weight – Its density is about 4.5 g/cm³, which is only 60% that of steel, yet its strength is comparable to ordinary steel.

 

2,Excellent corrosion resistance, low thermal expansion coefficient, and high specific strength and stiffness – It maintains the required strength at moderate temperatures and can operate continuously at temperatures between 450 and 500°C.

 

As a result, GR7 titanium plate is widely used in the following fields.

Marine engineering and chemical industry

Because Grade 9 titanium plate has good resistance to acid and alkali seawater corrosion, it can be used in seawater desalination equipment, reactors, storage tanks, pipelines, heat exchangers, and other equipment.
