MMO Titanium Anode Production Process Overview
1.Select a GR1 titanium substrate (which has lower iron and oxygen content than GR2, higher purity, and better electrode performance). Ensure the surface is smooth and flat, free from deep scratches and defects.
2.Machine the selected titanium substrate - including folding, threading, and welding - according to the customer's required dimensions, ensuring tolerances are met.
3.Anneal and level the titanium substrate at temperatures above 500 °C to eliminate stress and ensure flatness.
4.During annealing and leveling, a dense titanium oxide layer forms on the titanium substrate surface. This layer is then polished mechanically or manually to achieve a metallic luster.
5.Pickle the titanium substrate in 10% oxalic acid at a slightly boiling temperature for several hours. This etches the oxide layer and produces a titanium hydride surface with a surface roughness of about 6 microns.
6.Prepare the appropriate precious metal solution, both qualitatively and quantitatively, based on the customer's required anode environment.
7.After the pickled titanium substrate passes inspection and shows a uniform gray, rough surface, it is manually coated and sintered at the appropriate temperature. After sintering, it is allowed to cool naturally. Once cooled to room temperature, it is coated again. This process is repeated for 12 to 20 coats to complete the procedure.
8.After the final sintering, the workpiece undergoes a lifespan test using a furnace-provided test piece. Once it passes, it is packaged and shipped.
